When we were on the road

Cooking with Schools took its initiative from the Government’s change in the curriculum to get more schools teaching healthy cooking and good nutrition. So what better way to start our campaign back in 2008 than with a roadshow led by Michelin-Star chef Gary Rhodes?

Leading the mission, he went back to his old primary school in Kent and showed the children how easy and how much fun it is to cook and eat in a healthy way.

Since then, we have visited 134 primary schools across the country and introduced more than 21,802 children to good nutrition, helping them learn about good fats and bad fats and the importance of a well balanced diet.

These road shows also helped us promote our campaign in the community, getting people like you to collect the tokens on our packs of Flora to provide the schools with much needed cooking equipment. The campaign has been a great success and, although this is our last year, we hope Cooking with Schools will have a lasting effect, with the equipment, recipes and fun being handed down to each new generation of school children.

Thank you for being a big part of it.
