Ysgol Gynradd Y Felinheli

"We were lucky", said Non Wyn Huws, Head Teacher at Ysgol Gynradd Y Felinheli, "the collection was brought to our notice by one of our parents who had already started to collect tokens. Word-of-mouth by that particular parent proved to be a great success."

Although it was a parent who initially started the collection, the school swiftly got behind the campaign as soon as their attention was brought to it, sending out letters and flyers to all parents as well.

"We do a lot of cooking here," said the Head Teacher, "not only as part of the Design and Technology curriculum, but also as part of our whole school policy on behaviour and rewards. We also cook a great deal for various school based events, Children in Need, mince pies for the elderly and so on. The portable oven we are going to order from Cooking with Schools will make a big difference."
